I bet that's **** up my recording if they ran late! I timed it to 159.
Did I miss anything interesting, as I've still to watch the show anyway! (Was busy, plus watching ITV, then went to bed!)

Interesting that they do a total raised so far count ten minutes before the programme is due to end and it appears the total is down from last year so what happens, the show gets extended twenty minutes until 2:!5 and if by magic, they beat last years total.
SKY EPG's at the 1:55 Weatherview showing up until they went into News 24 at about 2:20.

The VERY FIRST CIN, programme back in 1980, the bbc had a polcy about Not show Unhappy kids,
so the film the showed was the most ANIT giving film in you life!
Esther Rantzen explained it all in a documentary a few years ago
the film showed a bunch of happy well look after kids playing in a park

Thankfully only saw a few minutes of this just to see the Hollyoaks bit - but whoever keeps employing Kaplinsky (and to a lesser extent Cotton) needs to be sacked.
I don't know if she appeared last night, but a couple of months ago I nearly posted a thread saying Carol Vorderman would be the new host after reading about a Children in Need competition in the local paper which said the winners would join "presenter Carol Vorderman" during the live BBC1 show.
After a bit of research I realised she was only appearing related to this competition (did she?) - but out of the female hosts about I do think she would be the best replacement for Gaby Roslin - certainly far better than Kaplunk!

Kaplinsky, Cotton and Roslin are competent presenters, but they are not entertaining presenters. They have no personality or off the cuff wit. The show needs someone that can get the audience laughing. Gaby Roslin was very lucky to ride Chris Evans coat tails on The Big Breakfast but she is just dull on her own.
Terry Wogan has to understand that he isn't just broadcasting to his Radio 2 audience because most of the viewers won't have a clue what he's on about.
Comic Relief is clever, they do it every two years so that it doesn't outstay it's welcome. Also in that time a new comedian or show will come through so the comedy potentially for that year will be what the audience are familiar with.

Exactly, I mean, when you look at Kaplinsky - she is trained as a newsreader not television presenter. She has only really come to TV presenting since her appearances on Strictly Come Dancing. I remember the New Years Eve show was hosted by her and Clare Balding earlier in the year. Now Clare Balding can keep a good stance in her presenting abilities - nothing is 'against the clock' with her, unlike Kaplinsky cutting short conversations etc.

I don't think that was the reason - I'm of the opinion that quite a few acts were late arriving or going on stage, hence the large amount of repeats that were used to pad out the programme.

Carol did appear albeit briefly sititng with the audience to tell (I think it was) Terry about a design a greetings card competition and she had the winner sitting next to her.
