Feels very flat this year.... no real specials and why isn’t the large studio being featured to make it look a real spectacular?

It's been flat for years... But brings in the money so who cares?

Red Nose Day felt like that in 2017.

Both have been flat for 15+ years now. They seemed to stop really caring.

On now, "Beat The Average" ... could this be a sneaky pilot for the next rubbish early Saturday evening BBC One gameshow that gets axed after one series . . . ?

As I posted back earlier, just look at how ten years difference has made in the content of Children in Need night. 2009 was much stronger and better in my opinion.

It seems the BBC knew they had nothing to fill the last 15 minutes of the night and came up with this drivel instead. Remember the Midnight hours was always musicals, casts came from their theatre shows and performed for them live. That has been dumped.

I didn't watch CiN this year, but have seen a clip that's doing the rounds of a Dr Who fan being surprised by Jodie Whittaker and two other cast members which was magical. Even if the whole show was crap, that one viral says all you need to know why CiN is still relevant.
Cando, DeMarkay and Jonwo gave kudos

No excuse not to use the audience and make the studio look as good as it has been shown it can.

Could have been made to look much better by cameras behind the fixed audience seating and the hosts going into the audience.

This is supposed to be a thank you to the fund raisers so why haven’t they featured in the studio seating area ?

The studio set up has been the same for nearly a decade now, especially since the moved into Elstree in 2013.

They should have ended by now, but the put another VT repeat - do I feel they want to nudge the total higher, and so air another VT to try and beat 2018 total?

Most of the people on here and elsewhere love to complain about CIN but you cannot deny that it does a lot of good, likewise with Comic Relief,
