To be fair, they had ridiculously OTT sets in the past. I'm sure I'm not imagining one late 80s/early 90s one where they'd constructed a canal between two of TVC's studios, am I?
You're not, here it is
(about 17 mins in if it doesn't start in the right place. I love how they clearly think Terry and Sue are going to appear at the other end of the tunnel but they never do...)
Comparing that set with the four hour (!) chunk of CIN 1991 recently uploaded to YouTube, it does indeed appear to a smaller main studio in 1989. In 1989 the video wall is next to the stairs, in 1991 it's much bigger and behind the orchestra.
Boots has raised £1,000,000 for Children in Need. Well done, Boots.
Who's Raised The Mostaliser:
Schools (£5.5m)
Asda (£2.5m)
Boots (£1m)
A bit dubious that Boots managed to raise exactly 1 million. It’s almost as if they don’t know how much merchandise they’ve sold so have just guessed it was probably about 1 million pounds worth
The cast & crew of EastEnders did a really great job with their performance of Disney songs on the Albert Square set. They did a fantastic job with all of the effects & the singing from some members of the cast were amazing. The kids who did this year's performance of their CIN song were incredible tonight.
Well done to them all. They all have done the UK proud with their performance tonight.
Countryfile makes an appearance now talking to Adi. They raised £2,963,643 for Children in Need. Well done to all.
The CSR department will have a budget, Boots merchandise sales will say raise £987,157.87. The CSR department will round it up using their budget to £1M.

You think that's good money, you should see how much they earn on meal deals.
There isn’t exactly much atmosphere in the studio, just two presenters reading from the autocue. They should get entertainment presenters to host who can work a crowd.

Hark the days El Tel would involve the audience from the very start with his bucket and the oversized cheques.
