It was always hateful to read the previews for CIN in the paper leading up to the night itself and getting excited for certain sketches or events and then find out that they weren't going to be shown at the advertised time, or at all, in your region - mainly because someone decided that we would rather watch a local weather presenter fannying around a leisure centre talking to members of the public all evening. Same thing for Red Nose Day. Have a set, local opt-out time so all regions can cover these in a quick burst at the same time and then stick with network for the rest of the duration. Dipping in and out all evening is pointless and disrupts the flow.
Reading through the 2007 CiN thread earlier, the first to feature the current Pudsey design, I came across this screengrab. It's interesting how little the branding in this shot has changed over the last decade, compared to if I had shown you a screengrab from 1997 in 2007…
Apparently the BBC newsreaders won't be appearing this year as they're all asleep.

No CIN-related pres at all so far on BBC1. Would have certainly expected it by the 5.15pm junction. For me, it just highlights very bleak times for pres on BBC1 at the moment.
