The fun element of CiN has been lacking for many years, even when Terry hosted. The BBC management are now shoving it everywhere to build up the brand's profile but the Friday night show is now a damp squib. We used to see real big name celebrities appear or do skits and special shows. Graham Norton or Chris Evans do not do it any justice - I find both irritating and disingenuous.
We have non-entities who've had a few minutes of fame on talentless shows usually based in Essex or Chelsea, sound thick and can't string two sentences together and whoosh they're "celebrities" turning up on Strictly Come Prancing or Pointless (so appropriate is that title). They should be consigned to the dustbin of chavdom. Just who the hell is this plastic goof Rylan? He looks like he's been in a wind tunnel or Cilla Black and George Michael's lovechild. Are those teeth sponsored by Cillit Bang?
BBC says it's catering for the public but I don't know what focus group they're listening to because it ain't round here. BBC and ITV are run by talentless idiots that make W1A look like a serious documentary. The late BBC Midlands Today presenter Alan Towers was right in his live on-screen resignation - the organisation is run by pygmies in suits. They don't nurture talent and they consign the real celebrities on to the scrapheap just because they've reached a certain age - same as ITV.

Maybe it is time for the regions to come back to the front. I remember the time when Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales would have their own dedicated hosts for the night, and they would have a lot of local input from 7.00pm-1.00am with them going back to the network for key sketches and routines only. Maybe we need this back?

As I said a few posts ago, didn't everyone always complain about that? They messed round so much, timeshifting and playing back bits later on out of context, putting 3rd rate local entertainers on instead of big stars etc

Yep - widely slated by many viewers in the nations as they felt they were getting a second rate show. Also felt like wasteful duplication and dilution of fund-raising effort.

Are there any English regional opts tomorrow night? Not seen anything in BBC South land.

Donations fall through the floor when they go to the regional opts. They should be kept as minimal as possible.

I love how we went from having a pop at users who rather simplistically stated their problems with the show to having an in-depth discussion about it anyway.

Then maybe the problems aren't simplistically after all......

Yes, BBC London is from the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Leavesden with Riz Lateef.

That was rather my point! When you dig deep into it it’s clear there are issues and it was wrong to just totally wave away the original comments
