The most disappointing thing about this Weakest Link Special is that they've made no changes at all apart from upscaling the titles to HD and slightly different cheaper podiums.
If they're going to be bringing this back for a series of celebrity specials as per the rumours, it would be nice to see a few changes rather than an exact carbon copy of all the previous series.

A very stilted edition of the Weakest Link - they're obviously trying to do what The Chase do and make the celebrities getting an answer wrong funny and whatnot, but because it's timed it just seems like they're wasting a lot of it, and the pauses that Anne has been leaving as part of her 'queen of mean' character are really quite jarring.
I'm not especially against it coming back but I think it would do better to go back to being fast paced like it was during its original run, and I even think it could have been good for Anne to return in a slightly nicer/mellower form.

I wonder if perhaps we should please leave the Tumble Tower bashing alone? He’s not posted. It’s possible, probable maybe, that he will once it’s over. But he hasn’t yet, and he doesn’t deserve stick based on the past. He clearly loves CiN night and is keen, like he is on Eurovision night, to share his thoughts on it. When I was young I loved both too and I still do but there wasn’t a forum to share my enthusiasm for it as people didn’t have computers at home let alone a way of connecting them all together. I do hope that actually he does post. He’s been on here for a very long time. I also hope he hasn’t been put off posting. Everyone should be entitled to opinion and free speech.
Anyway. Sorry. Moving on...
I’ve enjoyed the bits I’ve seen. The Strictly Blue Peter mash up was great and I was thrilled to see that the gloriously inept Mark Curry can actually keep rhythm (unlike some others!) I think there’s been a decent balance between the tear jerkers and the entertainment and the musicals haven’t been as nauseating as some recent years. I still miss the fundaraisers in the audience I have to say though. CIN ought to really be about people who have raised money (but I do get that actually that probably makes quite boring telly to watch). But a little bit mightn’t go amiss. The regional opt I saw from BBC South was a little lacking in atmosphere but maybe that was deliberate? £33m by the news isn’t bad going.

You said as much in the Red Nose Day thread (continuing the TV Forum repeats that this thread has started) and as I said at the time, actually, he is relentlessly negative about both events and hasn't had a good thing to say about them in years.

He'll be positive once they add Jimmy Cricket to the line-up.

I think if The Weakest Link does come back permanently then I hope they'll get it back to the 9 person format.
I wasn't expecting it to be like the good old days, but it was definitely good to see it back.
