I always wondered what happened to the 'Children In Need' song that they used to play - especially with getting school choir kids to sing it during the show - since the launch of The Children In Need single, a few years' back, they ditched this,.... who agress that they should bring back the song??!!!

I think I remember it.. the song is slowly coming back to me the more I think about it afaik... remember it being an uplifting tune.... i'd like to see it back, but then again I am sad so....

[Edit] It suddenly came to me... "When Children Rule the World" and I think these are the lyrics: http://www.old-hickory.demon.co.uk/whenchildren.htm (Specifically remember the "When Children Rule the world, tonight.. when Children rule the world)

Was this what you meant?

Something like "We are the children, children in need"

Yes I remember.

The thing is however bad the show is, they still get the money, generally a "record" amount each year.

Though undoubtably a worthy cause, the only way we'll get any real improvement is if the amount of money falls.

Yes they still play a small part of the tune everytime they have an update on what has been raised so far.

But I do remember when they used to sing it..

"We are the children
we are the need
if you want to help
help Children in need..."

Oh yes - I remember it well. The lyrics were...

"We are the children, we are the meek
We are the voice that is longing to speak
We are the future, we are the seed
If you want to help, help children in need"

It was normally performed by a children's choir with a few soloists. As far as I know, the last time it was actually performed on the show was back in about 95 or 96, when Gary Wilmott did lead vocals, accompanied by the obligatory choir.

Why oh why do I remember that??!

So many reasons, none of which I'd like to discuss with a lawyer present.

Anyone think we're in store for a dog? (Or should that be Pudsey...)
