Don't think much of this show tonight, loads of toffs and celebs splashing around silly money for items we don't really care about. All very well meaning of course, but doesn't make great telly.

Anyway, looking on the Great Big Bid site, and I wonder if any forumers are bidding for this Laughing

There's about 30 of them I think.

Ah you can always rely on bringing Buerk out of semi-retirement for a good old knees up Wink

Indeed, have you noticed these newsreader CiN jobs are always with presenters that are hardly on TV thesedays, such as Buerk and Bowen. Obviously most of the current lot turn it down

Yes, not very charitable. I remember a few years ago seeing Sissons dancing to Fatboy Slim in his red braces.

I take it even the weathergirls aren't doing anything this year?

Here is the line up, all very predictable stuff, and all linked together by Kaplinsky and Cotton, I can't wait Rolling Eyes

7pm to 7.30pm
Terry Wogan is joined by Natasha Kaplinsky and Fearne Cotton for a night of fun and fundraising. Liberty X kick things off with the official BBC Children in Need single, Status Quo jet into RAF Brize Norton, the venue for one of two huge fundraising concerts, and Candice from Coronation Street sings a soul classic live in the studio.

7.30pm to 8pm
The boys from Casualty raise the temperature with their own musical surprise , and Westlife perform from Belfast.

8pm to 8.30pm
Bruce Forsyth goes Strictly Tap Dancing, Girls Aloud join the party at RAF Brize Norton and Madonna is live in the studio.

8.30pm to 9pm
EastEnders jailbird Sam Mitchell escapes Walford to perform a classic track, and the cast of Emmerdale don glad rags for High Society in the Woolpack.

9pm to 9.30pm
Billie Piper and David Tennant star in a special Doctor Who scene written exclusively for Children in Need. Plus live music from Sugababes in Wrexham, Wales and KT Tunstall in Glasgow.

9.30pm to 10pm
Catherine Tate gets into a bit of 'bovver' in Albert Square, and Rod Stewart performs a favourite from his American songbook.

10.35pm to 11pm
Terry Wogan, Natasha Kaplinsky and Fearne Cotton are back, introducing comedy surprises from Dead Ringers and live music from the Corrs and Katie Melua, also with fundraising reports from around the UK.

11pm to 11.30pm
The legendary BBC Newsreaders make headlines with their version of a rock anthem, and there's music from Craig David and Texas.

11.30pm to 12am
Put faces to names as the cast of Ambridge perform a special mini-episode of the Archers live in the studio, plus more music from Madonna and Jamie Cullum .

12am to 1am
Emmerdale favourite Amy Nuttall performs music from My Fair Lady.

1am to 2.05am
Welsh classical sensation Katherine Jenkins sings live in the studio , and the stars of London's West End drop in to perform exclusively for BBC Children in Need. And, as the grand total for the night is announced, the fab four - G4 - round off the 2005 fundraising spectacular.

How's that Doctor Who sketch gonna work, bearing in mind he's just regenerated, & the Christmas episode is supposed to be Tennent's first one?

(Not another Dimensions In Time surely!)

I suppose one problem with last years show was the lack of outside studio broadcasts. Hoping to see more of them.....bunjee jumping in the car park or something, someone getting gunged...oh bring back the influence of Noel Edmonds and his gunge tank! Smile

I take it when Terry finally bows out of TV (which will be never) Fearne and Natasha will take over CIN - in which case...its goodbye from me. Mad

Wasn't it something to do with Gabby having a reduced role this year and basically her saying there was no point and therefore walking? Not too keen for more Natasha exposure but Fearne should be ok providing she's not too yoof.

Personally I couldn't think of a worse combination of female presenters - Miss Kurpunsky (and she's got that name for a reason) and Feane (How old exactly are you?) Cotton. If ever there was a case for BBC cut backs then them two get first place as the cheerleaders. That said, Mr Wogen shall return so a good time for all is asssured.

Yes, Wogan and his coin bucket are the saviour of CIN these days. Wink Wonder how much the TOGs calendar will raise this year.
