Well surprise surprise (there's no Cilla 'ere..) the previous opt-out down to South East Today land in Brighton didn't go as planned. They cut to the newsroom in Kent with a nervous Rob Smith preparing for the regional news bulletin.

Brighton? It's Gillingham isn't it? Anyway, there's a fair bit of breakup on the OB and lots of fading colour. Oh, and Eugune from BB who reeled off where he was and why he was there in typical scripted style (a bit like he was being interrogated) to a fairly innocuous first question.

Yes, Gillingham sorry. Eugene is so badly professional.

And as to the Doctor Who thing, were they having a laugh? "Exclusive scene for Children in Need" implied to me an exclusive scene, not just a glorified preview of the first five minutes of the Christmas episode...

Well, couldn't see how they could do it really with the Christmas episode in waiting. Pure example of just trying to make people watch the show i suppose.

Well in Yorkshire there was no sound on the regional weather from Paul

A heck of an improvement there, then, eh?

Fearne Cotton is nothing short of cringeworthy. Stick to Diggit, love.

Scotland just crashed in and out of the breakdancing thing very abruptly, and 20 minutes late, with very little explanation as to what was going on.

I assume in England you were told what was going on.

I did actually laugh pretty heartily at the Dead Ringers sketch. Jon meeting Tony was pretty funny and not over done. Could've been crineworthy, but was pretty good. (unlike the other occasions some other members seem to relish furiously describing in this thread).

Nick (or anyone else in the West region), where are BBC West doing their opts from tonight? Bristol I'd imagine, but where in Bristol?

Reason I ask is that I'm coming to Bristol to do a media course in 10 days and was just interested - didn't think to check earlier when I was watching the the South West opts (and the "Red Barrows"!) and now I've been turfed away from the Sky box for the night...

Well the BBC Scotland quiz is entertaining enough, albeit it has ripped off, in order: Name that Tune, Richard and Judy (Guess the celebrity), Shooting Stars (George Dawes), They Think It's All Over (Feel the Sportsman) and is a bit of a mess (in a sort of endearing way).

Haven't a clue, I'm afraid, James.

I've not watched the programme in the twenty-five odd years it's been on; and don't intend to start now.

Was watching the Ten, hence caught the opt to the weather, but then switched off again.

I caught part of the "Living Next door to Derek" spoof on Wales Today at 18:30.

Credit to EE and Stacy for the gag "!Kat says it doesn't matter who you sleep with aslong as it's not filmed.' Laughing Noone can even tell it was stacy so it was a fantastic Gag
