Well we've just had the first CIN regional split. The BBC South coverage is coming from INTECH Science Centre in Winchester. I've been there before - once in 2004 and once in 2006.

Thanks. Very Happy

Welcome Tumble Tower. Looks like this is going to be a good one then.

BBC One HD took London. A pity that they couldn't have used a HD shot of BBC Television Centre or something instead.

This years CIN just seems so bland and slow...The presenters and content don't help.

They're clearly reducing Wogan's role as the years go by, he gets a lot of support these days. Nowt wrong with him remaining the "face" of Children in Need as long as they're not relying on a man in his mid-70s to anchor 6... hours of live tv...

I notice Nick Grimshaw is down to do a bit later, does that mean Terry's heading off early or will they be using him in some other capacity?

Also - noticed they addressed the elephant in the room early on and got it out of the way (Savile scandal). Very nicely done.

John Craven has just shown us the 2013 Country File calendar. Did anyone on TV Forum send in pictures for it? Have any TV Forum users bought a 2013 Country File calendar?

If you're surprised by this, you've never watched CiN before.

I think the words you are looking for are "tommy" and "rot".

Now for the Strictly Come Dancing Children In Need Special. Presented by Bruce Forsyth, as expected.

Tonight's couples:

Ann Widdecombe with Anton
Russell Grant with Flavia

Fancy having Ann Widdecombe on. I remember when she was in SCD 2010 she kept being saved week after week till late in the series, yet her dancing was never up to much - she was very much like John Sergeant in an earlier series.

I'm surprised they didn't have John Sergeant against Ann Widdecombe in this SCD CIN Special.

Hence why she was kept on.

That would have been a good idea, but Russell Grant was also a 'joke act'.

John Sergeant is a serious political journalist who arguably wasn't the greatest dancer of his series. He was never a figure of fun and I doubt he will dance on television ever again.
