I can just hear the promo for that show...

"Friday Night on Channel 4..later Charlotte Church sings Pie Jesu! But first, here's Chris with TFI Friday! Rock on people!"

Yeah because that would've been *MUST SEE*.

Obviously it would have been a different show in a different slot. But this is what brought her to public attention and more people were interested in the Voice of an Angel than today's Fallen Angel.

Charlotte has alienated many of her original fans with her behaviour and her abandonment of opera. Jonathan Ross has nothing to worry about!

I hardly think that her changing her style of music will affect the quality of her TV show. I mean if you could make millions more by changing your style of music would you do it? I personally like the promo (You aren't a real miner are you?) and will watch the show just to see what it is like. So don't slate her just because of her behaviour because she is just like most people in the UK. Oh and I think you should discuss the show!

Church: I'll poach viewers from Ross
Wednesday, August 30 2006, 09:16 BST - by Dave West

Charlotte Church is nervous ahead of her new chat show – but says she is confident it will take viewers from Jonathan Ross.

"Definitely," she answered, when asked on GMTV if she could attract fans of the seasoned BBC host. She added that her offering would be "more than just a talk show".

"What I want my show to be ultimately is really funny, really quirky, but ultimately really funny," she continued, and described some of the treats she has lined up. In one sketch, 'Starlet Church' is seen in a spoof reality show pretending to be a tribute act to herself.

The singer maintained she was "very, very nervous" despite her confidence and predicted a bad response from the media. She explained: "The press is so much on my case.

"Even if it was the best show in the world and Channel 4 had the highest number of viewers they had ever had, they would still have a go."

The series begins on Friday night.

Hmm.. the spoof sketch about herself already has me concerned. Confused

Hmm interesting start, seems like it has some potential.

She's sat up on a sofa with her feet up and 'no barrier' between her and the guests. Just like Mrs O

I'd say it was trash, rather watch Davina.

Not too bad actually - she's certainly far superior to "Mrs O".

It's also not the usual formulaic chat show mode - not even a chat show at all really - more like the Friday Night project.

I thought the guests were supposed to be guests but in the end they were more like co-presenters, who held the show together and presented better than the host herself

The 'dressing up as a man' bit was a blatent rip off of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

It was just a welsh version of the Friday Night Project really

Well, I thought Charlotte Church did a pretty first class job tonight!

Yes - it was a bit daft in places and not too serious, but I think the programme had a good combination of elements. Charlotte certainly seemed to be at ease hosting the programme and seems to have grown in confidence and personality. Certainly not at all like the laboured, autocue reading performance of Mrs O which debuted this week also.

I think this show definitely has some potential and should do well for Channel 4. She was a great presenter and it was a great show and it is ideally placed on the right channel Channel 4 and at the right time too. Ch 4 have always been good at making these Friday night programmes so the audience know what to expect!

Spot on Charlotte! Well done!!! Very Happy

I'd like to know Simon Lu xton's views on tonight's proceedings.
