now, I remember in my childhood (probably the mid 1980s) charlie chaplin shorts being used as fillers on itv very frequently, probably before or after citv.

does anybody know if they were region specific, networked, and does anyody remember when they stopped being shown?

Oh is that what their "Google Doodle" of the day is about. I thought it was something to do with Hitler due to the (apparently unfortunate) positioning of the play button and the gothic script.

I don't remember Charlie Chaplin on ITV at all in the mid-80s. I remember it being shown in the late 70s/very early 80s around lunchtime on a Saturday - but I have a feeling that was on the BBC.

it might have been on the BBC. I just have a memory of the old anglia knight ident preceding it or following an old loony toons cartoon but being only a wee nipper my memory could have got confused over the years.
