Screen Wipe gets two more series

Guardian columnist Charlie Brooker's TV review show Screen Wipe has been commissioned for two further series on digital arts and culture channel BBC4.
Screen Wipe will return to BBC4 for a five-part run this summer, with Brooker focusing exclusively on US TV in one of the shows.

A second series has been ordered to run on BBC4 early in 2007.

Screen Wipe is written and presented by Brooker. Each show takes a look at the highs and lows of TV that week, along with reports and features taking an inside look at the broadcasting industry.

"For some mad reason BBC4 weren't entirely put off by the three pilots we made earlier this year, so I'm returning with yet more puerile meandering and dispiriting misanthropy, which I intend to somehow pass off as 'analysis'," Brooker said.

Screen Wipe is made by Zeppotron, the comedy arm of Endemol UK, the independent producer behind Big Brother.

hmm.... I'm undecided about this one. The points he makes are good and there are some funny pieces in there but I think he comes across as a poor presenter and seems to swear repeatedly just because he can't think of anything better to say

I saw this on the MG website today and was pleased - I only discovered this show in the last few episodes and so missed most of it.

There were only 3 episodes anyway, they were pilots.

This is cool. I kinda liked the programme. Some of it was bad, but some of it was very interesting.

Good news, as long as they don't expect any more archive footage from us!
