Essentially a TV version of his Guardian Saturday column, I'm guessing quite a few people around these parts would enjoy it - last week's included a fairly good breakdown of how TV programmes cost so much (including the man in the office who's paid to throw money into the shredder).

This week's has a few more repeats on BBC Four over the weekend, but next week's (first showing on Thursday at 10.30pm), he's going to be taking a look at some old TV pres.

Very interesting programme indeed, and thanks for pointing it out. It's like a wierd take on TV, mostly true.

'Deal Or No Deal, it's like looking into a Void.'
'Will it be head, will it be heads? Argh, it's tales!'

A very good segment on science on TV, non of it is actual science, and non of it makes sense.

I loved out of all of the breakfast offerings he went with Milkshake on five, and really, hi 5, I think that would push me too far the other way and make me reach for the knife. Can't wait for the day that I have kids!

Looking forward to next weeks programme now. A great little find, but isn't it only on for 3 weeks, with this being the 2nd?

I thought last night's was nowhere near as good as the first one, maybe it was because he was taking the pee out of DoND (one of my favourite shows) but it seemed more hateful and lazy than was really necessary. He could have summed up the whole thing by saying "God, everything's a bit ****, isn't it?".

I really enjoyed the programme, but that man's delivery really wound me up.

While I didn't disagree with his section on "tears" (cue Andy Peters footage), the annoying way he delivered it really got my goat. "Hateful" is a very good word to describe his demeanour.

Did you notice the girls who surrounded him in shot? It looked like the dark skinned one was finding him as annoying as I.

I only saw last week's, I didn't think it was too great, but not a bad attempt at the TV Version of his Guardian piece, but I just didn't see the point of Robber Popper (of Look Around You fame) banging on for 5 minutes about some truly awful HTV game show with Gyles Brandreth as presenter, though he did explain it inspired part of a segment of Look Around You.

Though I urge people to get the Screen Burn book (at all good Book retailers, well I got my copy from Borders), though its nothing more than his Guaridan articles from 2000 until 2004, it is very funny and he is rather accurate on the right and wrongs on TV, especially from his comments things like the first series of Big Brother.

Brooker wouldn't be Brooker without hate. If you don't like it, you don't like it.

Personally I think Brooker is genius, the first page I turn to in my Saturday Guardian each week; he alone is worth the £1.30.

I'm sure he is terrific in print. As I said, the content was very good, but his delivery did let it down for me.

But hey - one can't be good at everything.

Tonight, a good little piece on why we should maybe bring back IVC. TV Ark also got a mention in the credits.

And rightly so - we had to jump through hoops for them! The request for footage came at an inconvenient time, and the researcher I was dealing with wanted it like yesterday so I supplied three DVDs worth.

What the producers specifically wanted was a 1970s/80s programme menu but they weren't satisfied with those on the first three discs, so I had to send more footage (after first obtaining clearance from my source to do so). In the event, the Saturday menu shown came from our original consignment. And only after a massive hoo-ha did we get the credit.

There's an expression for how I feel, but the swear filter would censor it!

Quite impressive that he poured so much bile on Deal Or No Deal given it's effectively made by the same company (ok it may have a different name but it's still that spinny blue coin thing at the end).
