Apparently (according to twitter...stick with me here), the BBC4 marketing bods thought it was on later in the year!
Crud, didn't even realise there was a new series until I saw it here... aside from Charlie Brooker's twitter, where the hell are the promotions?!

10:30 on BBC2? I can see a problem there.
Not sure what TV Burp has to do with it either
While they are entirely different styles, TV execs see the success of TV review type show, think 'hmm we have a simliar show pushed away on BBC Four, it's a little bit like it, lets promote it to BBC2'
You may think that TV execs wouldn't be that stupid, but they commissioned 'The Persuasionists' for BBC2 so anything is possible!
You'd think with the success of TV Burp, they'd at least stick Screenwipe on BBC2 in the same 10:30 slot.

Different styles is an understatement.... there's nothing connecting the 2 except for the fact they show bits of other programmes.
You realise that you're sounding just as 'stupid' as your mythical 'TV execs' by even comparing the two programmes?
As for the Persuasionists, it certainly had the pedigree to be good and maybe the pilot was, seems the programme might be victim of some bad post production if anything:

There was actually a trail on BBC Two yesterday evening (must have been about 9pm) - which is only how I found out it was going to be on. But yes, they don't seem to be promoting his programmes as much as they were.
Maybe they figure now Charlie's established himself as having a following, they don't need to promote him as heavily as they did at first when he was relatively unknown.
Previous series of Screenwipe have been advertised on prime slots on the terrestrial BBC Channels, yet Gameswipe, Newswipe and Review of the Year have hardly been advertised as far as I can see
Wonder why?

I saw a promo on BBC Four at 10:29 for it, which was useful
As for the show itself, I must admit it did feel like it was going over old ground covered in both last years 'Newswipe' and the 'Screenwipe' News Special. Entertaining though

This is true. Gameswipe certainly got decent enough viewing figures despite not much advertising. Seeing as though Charlies programmes are generally for cult audiences, those audiences always tend to find those types of shows without much prodding

This was the first time I sat and watched a full episode, so was grateful for the 'start from scratch' mentality which I'm sure benefited many new viewers.
Glad to hear his bias against Hollyoaks is still in tact though
