I'm about your age too and I don't remember Bagpuss etc. I seem to remember it was all Cosgrove Hall cartoons and Britt Allcroft when I was a kid.

Similar story here - I'm 24, and I never, ever saw Bagpuss, Clangers or Ivor. I watched a lot of Children's ITV, proportionately, and remember stuff like Danger Mouse, Dreamstone, Riddlers, etc.

Yep - if you watched CITV you won't have seen much Small Films stuff - it was almost always on the BBC.

(It's like kids who grew up in the 70s - some remember Magpie, others Blue Peter...)

The same with Tiswas/No 73 or Swap Shop/Saturday Superstore
(I was the latter)

I remember watching OU before Children's BBC in the morning and that was in the early 90s!

I remember the unique test signal that was broadcast just before OU programmes started - a black screen with the legent "OU" in either the top left or top right corner. I assume this was to do with OU programmes originating from a dedicated presentation which could service both BBC1 and BBC2 at the same time, and the test signal was used to check that the correct output from OU Con was on the right network.

And from the other side of the day, I remember BBC2 showing a OU programme complete with OU ident at midnight every weekday night during the early 90s before they closed for the night.

Yep, should be good. Smile

If I miss it I'll catch it on iPlayer at some point.

Haven't laughed that hard at a tv programme for a very long time. The ending was genius!

Did anybody cap the episode when on air? I know, iPlayer, but that was the episode from tape so it doesn't have the continuity announcers....
