Hello this is my first post, and i love tv and my friend showed me this site so here i am up late with my toddler who wont sleep but god bless coffee!

Any ways i Live in jersey, i used to live in london, and boy what a differnace in local tv! Channel tv is so retro..they have so many funky things like there local adverts which have caused local debate "trade secreats" just has to been seen! It has a presenter who kinda sayes "im here at this shop and they have this offer" its fun, but that leads me onto my main post...

The presenter of this is also the presenter of the local childrens show "Puffins Pla(i)ce" Now i know oscar is legend and many will know of this puppet who has being going for 40 years i think. I remember growing up and this just being a birthday card slot with a funny curtain behind and some ageing presenter who also used to do other stuff, but its very different now!

Oscar is still there but he is very different, they have a proper studio now and funky graphics lots of different puppets the best being a hedgehog who squeaks and is a bit like sweep, my little girl is so in love with him...(this is why i see so much of it..i promise)

But it seems the whole thing works because of the presenter kevin pamplin, he has so much energy and has the gift of keeping a 10 minute show going with no script puppets and some times no birthday cards, my fav thing about him is he is not patronising, you know the way some of them are on kids tv. He seems to want to do more than he can,he manages to make me laugh and my kid. i think he would be really good on smtv or a new citv presenter in fact the whole of itv would be better off with Oscar and the gang on citv, they also pop up at 5pm and between the programms at 5.25pm like the old broom cubord announcing style which i so miss...

So thumbs up to channel the station which has manged to keep a human face!

Time to change a nappie and try sleep..the life of a single mum!

Hello & Welcome... Sorry this reply isn't related to your post but you'll probably get a relevant reply later on when everybody's up! (some of us are a bit lazy - lol!)

Anyway, what are you doing giving coffee to your child - you'll never get it to sleep doing that!!

Yes, it's just a pity about the rest of Channel's presentation - an uncpmfortable mix of local idents and national itv idents. What happened to the really friendly face of the channel - in-vision announcers! Surely this made sense for such a small, community-orientated station.

Channel looks a real mess these days.

I find Puffin's Pla(i)ce funny in that half the time Kevin is talking with his puppets and ignoring the viewers, and when he does talk to us, there is often loud sound effects over the top of him!

thats a bit harsh, as he does have to make the puppets seem real to the children, my little girl honestly belive sthat they are real because he talks to them as if they are children, there is so much going on with sound and vision for litttle ones.

Todays show didnt have over bearing sound effects and was very funny and also he mentioned bullying in a non patronsing way that my daughter would understand, i really think this show needs more backing from channel like a budget and stuff so he could be allowed to do more.
