Channel Television gone widescreen?

I live in the C.I, and we get 14:9 letterbox on analogue and proper 16:9 on Sky. Every channel too, even BBC1 local now.

I'll ask again, how is BBC Sport output presented on analogue . 14:9 letterbox, or 4:3 ?

Well it's still 14:9. I remember occasionally about a year ago they would play Sports in 4:3 in a 14:9 frame, so on a 4:3 TV on analogue the picture would look 4:3 but just zoomed out half way if you know what i mean.

Yep, 14:9 letterbox. Thanks all, that confirms it then, no clever AFD signaling for the BBC CI analogue output.
