Yes, Grandstand was the perfect place for all results in 1979, with Final Score around 4.40pm each Saturday where the results would have been given. First football results service would air from just after 4.30pm on BBC Radio 2's "Sport on 2".

You beat me to it. My memory of the 70s was that the footie results were consumed mostly by Pools players. Were CI residents able to play the Pools?

Considering they didn't have any video equipment and had only gone colour 3 years earlier, I doubt they had teletext equipment either!

I don't know what that page from 1979 was then, unless they were broadcast from Westward for Channel's benefit, or they got the year wrong (would have to be either 1984 or 90 for the 25th July to fall on a Wednesday), though the graphics are clearly based on the pre-1980 logo.
