I've not watched for a couple of weeks now but is the picture quality on NTL still poor? Last time I saw it the video kept freezing briefly every few seconds and the audio was scratchy and distorting. My analogue signal is awful unfortunately (shared aerial on the roof of the building) but the sound still is better than on NTL.

The quality of picture on NTL is still rather poor, it isn't as sharp as it was a few weeks ago, but it's stayed the same, it's stopped freezing gaps, but still looks like it's played from a VHS.

Though for some reason our Analogue picture of Channel M has got better, even here in Warrington! It's fuzzy going on watchable..

I've just had a look myself and yes the freezing does seem to have gone. In fact on the crappy US thing they were showing the sound was OK too - maybe the poor sound is just on the news.

You're doing well to get a fuzzy/watchable signal in Warrington, I'm only in Didsbury and mine's a load of shash. Where's the mast? It's somewhere in town isn't it?

Andy lives just outside of Glossop so it's quite normal to see him in Glossop Town Centre on Saturday morning, which can be frightening when you're nursing a major hangover Shocked Shocked

Isn't Channel M's transmitter located at Salford University? Though I'm not sure....

Our aerial like everyone else's is pointed at Winter Hill, so I'm rather bemused at how a low power Channel is getting as far as Warrington. We've had a fuzzy picture for a couple of years now, but recently it's got better and we've started getting the picture in colour, rather than black and white.

But NTL Channel 26 does me fine....Very Happy

I was also quite surprised to see Channel M stick to a normal schedule today, usually on any other Bank Holiday it's nothing but CHUM repeats, but we've had 4 Manchester and a shortened Channel M News, which is back on Monday. I'm not complaining, as they've had more than ITV today.

The Channel M tx used to be on the top of Salford Uni yes, but I believe it's now located here.

I caught some of Channel M via Analogue tonight, the picture is getting more and more watchable for some strange reason, but I noticed the picture digitally freezing here and there, so I'm glad it wasn't NTL's problem with the picture.

Though in August, Sky are holding a 3 Day event in Manchester City Centre, which is there to show off their channels and apparently will offer people a behind the scenes look at the way Sky works, they mentioned this on Channel M News tonight, they even managed to speak to Dawn Airey (One of the Director's at Sky) about it. It sounds rather interesting, and as it lasts 3 days, I will probably go, it sounds good. Though other than when and where it will be, not much has been said about it yet otherwise, there's more on MediaGuardian, but when they reported it on Channel M News tonight, they didn't rule out Channel M doing something at this festival.
