How did you celebrate the new year on the TV?

I watched ITV1 2DTV and the news which I thought was good.

What about BBC News 24? I watched that, I dont like BBC Scotlands output on BBC One its always got crappy music and the same two guys every year! I Liked BBC News 24 thought they could have made it slightly better by having two presenters like last year

I usually watch Sky News on New Years Eve but decided to watch BBC News 24 instead last night. Wasn't bad, it had a joint hour with BBC World from 22:30-23:30 with coverage of the Euro launch, and then then all the celebrations from around the UK at midnight.

And why weren't you all down the pub getting blitzed?

Well I went to bed as I wasn't in a particularly festive mood, what with Freeparking messing up my domain name, and some other webmaster spreading muck again... on second thoughts I think I'll shut up now, before I get depressed again. Sad

They don't allow under-age drinking in the pubs round here.

At the time England flicked over into 2002, I happened to be knocking back a big bottle of Red Square Ice (no doubt my 7th), whilst my mates watched the coverage on BBC 1.

How does BBC 1 manage to provide the best coverage every new year's eve?!

I too watched News 24 although I have to say Sky News' covergae was pretty good and they cracked open a bottle of champagne!

BTW: It was a shame Peter Dobbie was left to do it one his own - they could have brought someone else in!

This comes as no surprise rob. Are you going to make it your New Years Resolution to watch at least one other channel throughout the course of the year ? http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Well I had News24 and BBC World on upstairs and BBC One Scotland downstairs! Very good coverage indeed, although I thought Peter Dobbie would have someone with him. He was all alone in the News 24 studio, poor him!http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif
