Blind Date is filming at TLS next week. Four shows will be filmed next Tuesday and Wednesday.

That's escalated at a worryingly rushed pace - I hope there has been plenty of pre-production going on behind the scenes prior to the recent annoucement. Has there even been a call out for contestants?

I suppose we don't know how long they've been working on it or even in discussions with Paul before any announcements have been made.

They just need to announce a new version of Gladiators to play along side it and it'd be the 90's coming back with a bang. Razz

Seems odd that it's just two isolated back to back dates, when you consider the contestants have to go away on the date etc. Perhaps it's a run through or a pilot to see what works and what doesn't.

Yes it will have been going on for ages. Press releases normally come out when a shed load of work has already gone into the show, not when it's just been commissioned. They've been casting for it for some time now.

Have tickets been released for this or are these pilot tapings?

To save money maybe they'll all go on the same holiday, and they'll film the reactions also in one chunk in a couple of weeks and stitch them together.

Or as its Channel 5, to save money they'll just go to a night club in Manchester instead, you could call it Fernandos.

I hope not, about the dates being the same location I mean - part of the original show's charm was to see people going to different destinations.

Considering C5 recently had a comp for a holiday for London, it wouldn't surprise me if it's that low budget.

I don't understand this. They had a competition to win a trip to London on the doc about Kings Cross because it was a relevant prize to the series. It wasn't just a cheap day return, either. If they really wanted to save money, they wouldn't have done a competition at all.

IIRC you can't just run a random competition on air, it has to be linked to the programme somehow.

Unless icelolly.com has gone bust they'll be fine.
