Maybe that's th case but they're hardly going to turn around and say their agents never got them a gig are they?
I reckon if they were offered a Total Wipeout style show on early Saturday evening BBC One they'd give it a crack.
I can't know that for sure but I'd be surprised if they would turn down the opportunity.
I dunno, though, they're sitting pretty on kids TV as it stands and if they tried their luck at adult TV I reckon most people would consider them a bit of a second rate Ant and Dec and they wouldn't make much of an impact. Far better they continue doing kids TV, they clearly enjoy doing it and the kids like them. I think they're very good at it, and of course no kid now will ever remember them being pop stars.
Can't really see it working with two hosts. Does highlight though how there is pretty much a shortage of TV presenters around now the production line of kids TV has all but closed.
I don't know why you keep on saying this, there's absolutely loads of kids TV. CBBC is on air for fourteen hours a day, twenty or thirty years ago it would barely be on for fourteen hours a week. There are so many opportunities for presenters on kids TV, and so many more formats than there used to be. Time was Newsround was a single show on weekdays, now there are several shows a day, seven days a week, with many more presenters - and of course there's also now regular sports programmes on CBBC with MOTD Kickabout, they never had time to do that in the old days.
As mentioned, Uncle Matt Baker is on the cover of the Radio Times this week, and in a feature alongside Helen Skelton who is also a regular on primetime. As also mentioned, Michelle Ackerley is now a regular on primetime, Will Best is doing Dance Dance Dance on primetime ITV, Hayley from Newsround has done a couple of daytime series, and that's just off the top of my head. I will also predict that Lindsey Russell off Blue Peter will be a primetime staple in years to come because she's ace.
There are dozens of kids TV shows and dozens of kids TV presenters, probably more than there's ever been.
