Blind Date should be on ITV. (as it was originally ITV show).

That's meaningless, particularly in today's independent-production landscape.

Oh, yeah. I'm just so used to it being on ITV.

To be fair I think you should have had time to get used to it not being on ITV.

I'm really hating The Voice now. Graham Norton and Gary Barlow aren't right for the format.

I see that Doctor Who spin-off has got another series on ITV soon as well. You know, the one where David Tennant can only go back in time by talking to people.

Hardly names that would appeal to either a Channel 5 youth skewed programme or a female skewed programme.

Why not Chris Kamara?

The obvious choice seems like Rylan Clark.

I can't help feeling that the show when brought back will be less like the Cilla era, considering it will be on Channel 5. Worth noting the direction Big Brother has gone in since moving from Channel 4.

Rylan does appear to be the obvious front runner, but if they were to go for a middle aged female presenter, Ruth Langsford.

It won't be anything like what it was - it wasn't anything like what it was by the time it finished in the first place. If you're expecting it to be like what it was thirty years ago I think you'll be disappointed.

Which is why Cilla quite live on air!

A report on it in the paper included the sentence, something along the lines of, "People in their teens and early 20s won't remember Blind Date." I think this hints at two things - it'll relate very little to the original series; and it'll be s**t.
