1. The music WILL stay, it's the third relaunch of 5 News and the popular music will stay, it may get a remix. (not sure?)
2.It WILL NOT be in widescreen, no ITN programmes are produced in widescreen.
3.No one is sure, it's said that because Kirsty will present only 3 days one week and four the next Charlie will be her co-presenter / stand-in... (We think he will leave though!)
4.Kirsty is v cool, down to earth!
5.The 5 will be the logo, they are working on the 5 News logo at the moment.

That's wicked, thanks a lot! I'm glad to hear about the music remaining, it really is great! I hope Charlie doesn't leave though, he is a great presenter, although maybe he would fit in better on ITV News if they needed a new presenter? Once again, thanks!

Ba-bam ba bah-bam bah-bah!
Yeah, top music, but dark blue with Kirsty behind a desk? Won't viewers confuse this with other stations where the set is dark blue with a desk? (Sky News, ITV1)...
hang about,
BEHIND
a
desk?
on
5 news?
Are you sure???: :

A couple of things....
Channel 5 have had the same theme music since their launch, a bit like ITV News, and secondly
anyone wanna do a mock?

I wonder if anyone can answer these questions...
Where will 5 news move to when the new set is being built? Last time, part of the news room was sectioned off! Will it be similar this year?
Will Kirsty Young really be sitting behind a desk? I find this hard to believe!
Will Rob Butler and Katie Ledger be part of the new 5 news team?
Thank You
Jay.

Five News will move to another part of the newsroom for the early part of January (as far as I know)...
Kirsty WILL be behind a desk, theres no point in trying to re-create what we used to have and besides everyone else copies us now anyway!
Rob will continue to front '5 News at Noon' and Katie will be the face of '5 News Updates', Charlie will front the show when Kirsty is away and the weekend output!
Also there isn't going to be a 'new' 5 News team, just an old presenter!

It's nice to know that Channel 5 can maybe afford a desk now.

What's that supposed to mean? We've always had a desk!
My favourite the '5 News at noon' 'pod' that Rob used to stand behind!
I must say, I never used to like 5 News. But I really like the current 'clean' look and I think Charlie Stayt (is that how you spell it?) is a really good newsreader.
'Your news from 5 News - after the break.'
Tops.
Unfortunately, I'm not mad on Kirsty Young as a newsreader - so I guess I'll just need to watch whenever Charlie's on!
Oh, welcome to the forum BTW Cross Company

I like 5 NEWS, the music has always been good and I like the updates between the programs in the day, it's quick and informative and makes you want to catch the full bulletin!
