First studio link from this morning, briefly introducing the new studio and showing the new clock animating on and off. I'm just glad they didn't use this small refresh as an easy time to ditch the whole of the invision team.

For some reason I'm reminded of Sesame Street, I'm not sure if that's the style or the children singing.

Presumably you're reminded of the Sesame Street titles from the late 90s with children drawing numbers on the floor with chalk which then come alive.

Yes, this one:

I mistook it for a Cillit Bang advert.

Looks like yesterday's links were pre-recorded; generic "now it's time for this" announcements (or some variant of), and the clock isn't on the wall.

Crazy to think that Milkshake has been the most consistent Kids TV slot in TV history in terms of presentation (ie presenter sat in front of kids drawings)... This is probably the most radical revamp in that respect.

I feel ancient to think it's 20 years old Crying or Very sad

Also, discounting the ITV Breakfast slot at weekend, it's the last kid's TV slot on the main terrestrial channels. Who'd have predicted that Channel 5 would be the ones putting some of the biggest effort into kids TV, even still producing a fair bit of original content?

It's always done really well for Channel 5, I remember the tabloids having a field day when Milkshake was thrashing RI:SE in the ratings. I think after BBC1 and ITV in the mornings Channel 5 and CBeebies aren't that far behind in people watching.

C5 really don't get enough credit for it and it's probably all the stronger for not being spinned off into it's own channel as was planned a few years back.
