Probably first time in well over a year I'd used Demand 5 - and as others have said still seems to have the old branding, even the old DOG (which I assume is generated by the service then rather than into the programme file).

Anyway, others have mentioned this but just wondering if anyone else has problems with it on Freeview Play. I got as far as the loading screen but then it wouldn't work. Ended up using Now TV (still with old branding too).

Channel 5 is the unintentional parody of channels. It's a total joke that this hasn't been updated to My5 yet.

Isn't it nearly 2 years since the rebrand?

It's a big mistake not to keep the on demand side of it up to date.

I think Demand 5 works better as a brand name than My 5. Once the TV channel goes, they should really bring back the Demand 5 name for their catch-up service and update the app on the products it is available on, even if it is just to change the holding image to be using the new 5 logo and change the DOG to the new one and put it up in the corner. Then they can call the catch-up section on Sky Demand 5 as well and not just "Channel 5" which looks odd. They seem to think enforcing their brand is just sticking a '5' in front of everything. I agree as long as they update the logo.

An advert for 5 Select has just appeared on Channel 5... literally the same on screen look as My 5 but with a new logo and the programmes they are boasting as being “their best” are no different to what is usually on My 5. Very uninspiring.

I'll have to keep an eye if 5Select promotion does turn up on Channel 5 and the offshoots, but based on this, it comes across as a rejigged My5, with a more distinguishable name to boot. Even the proposed schedules, which were posted a few pages back, showed very little discrepancy to the outgoing My5 channel (with the exception of RTE's drama, Striking Out).

The more positive aspects of this change? Channel 5 are willing to bolster their content onto a new service that will have better mindshare compared to its predecessors. And it does come across to me as a slightly more serious offshoot compared to 5USA/Star/Spike.

I wish good luck to the bods at Channel 5 who are preparing to launch the channel next week.
