The Ben Frow effect spilling over across the portfolio.

To be fair, he did hint at this when Viacom put him in charge of all their UK channels and their entire UK content budget:

Quote:
VIMN said handing Frow control if the company’s entire UK content budget would allow him to “better align editorial strategy between the brands to increase content sharing opportunities across the portfolio.”

The repackaging seems to be catching on. ITV are at it now:

Given how thin new content is at the moment, it’s not too surprising that other channels are reversioning or repackaging their shows, BBC Two do it with the Portillo Railway Journeys and ITV sometimes do shortened versions of their daytime cookery shows to fill the 8pm slot.

A slight return to the MTV Germany convo on the last page, they are showing their usual Guilty Pleasures afternoon playlist but with an on screen message in support of the Black Lives Matter movement which will remain on screen all day. The message is simply "f**k racism" as you can see below. You wouldn't get that on MTV UK! Another on screen message has just confirmed the on screen message is staying on screen for the next few days of music programming.

OFCOM would be on MTV UK ass for that if it appeared to a degree it seems straight to the point (don't normally agree as I can't stand what MTV puts out these days), its strange you mentioned this but I haven't seen any messaging in general on any of their channels, they mentioned recently the "stay safe" message on Channel 5 (sure this was posted up?), but yet on their ad breaks they have the #alonetogether so why haven't they not put this on their channels in the top right or even underneath their logos?, you would think that a message during the COVID-19 it be better displaying a message?, then again on the other they rather just advertise mostly MTV stuff these days so its kinda pointless!

I'm currently watching what, according to the EPG, is "Dogs With Incredible Jobs" but before going to an ad break, the title "Top Jobs for Dogs" is shown.

I find Virgin Media's EPG often to be wrong - e.g. on Thou Shalt Not Kill, currently on More 4, they have had listings for the wrong series for weeks - More 4 is showing the series after the one the Virgin EPG is describing. It is correct on other platforms - as is C5 tonight.

I actually find the opposite, it's generally very accurate - but episode numbering can sometimes be all over the shop where minority channels go. There were some well-publicised issues with C4/More-4/E4 this past week.

Certainly the first-aired-date, which is what matters, is pretty darned accurate.

Has Channel 5 forgotten to "repackage" it? lol ...

Isn’t that a regular occurrence? I watched ‘Paul O’Grady - 25 years of sweet & savage’ the other week that had ‘The Paul O’Grady Story’ caption into breaks.

Yes, they regularly repeat programmes as they were originally shown (i.e. without any edits), with different names in the listings, which is different to repackaging.
