The "Worlds most scenic railway journeys" on C5 tonight, is shown on Virgin's EPG as "first aired" Christmas Day last year. Virgin's EPG team can only go on what C5 tell them, C5 admit that it's a brand new episode (that's a first..), yet don't seem to want to correct this.
The Virgin EPG is the one main EPG that doesn't just go on what the channels tell them, but is bought from a third party in order to include the data that their TIVO system requires.
On my box it shows the programme as being series 1 episode 3, which is from New Zealand's South Island, and was shown last year. Per C5, the programme is series 2 episode 5, from New Zealand's North Island.
I find Virgin Media's EPG often to be wrong - e.g. on Thou Shalt Not Kill, currently on More 4, they have had listings for the wrong series for weeks - More 4 is showing the series after the one the Virgin EPG is describing. It is correct on other platforms - as is C5 tonight.
Now Comedy Central’s airing C5 clip shows like ‘When Talent Shows Go Horribly Wrong’. Are they forgetting that this is a comedy channel?
I guess this type of scheduling is to be expected when Comedy Central now falls under Channel 5/Ben Frow’s jurisdiction. I believe MTV also falls under Frow’s remit too.
I've just seen a trailer for a repeat of MTV Unplugged: Liam Gallagher, which is being shown next Friday evening on MTV.
The trailer states "brand new" at the end, so unless MTV are taking a leaf out of Channel 5's book and repackaging it, I can't see how they can call it brand new.
It's not even brand new to MTV (as in the main channel), as it has been shown several times before.
