Just spotted that MTV is also airing music on Fridays at 7pm.

Thats one other thing I will never understand with CC is the films they put on .... some seem irrelevant to the channels genre, surprised they don't air films like Saw/Final Destination i'm sure viewers will get a laugh out of that...

I once saw Oliver being aired one afternoon. Very bizarre.

Starship Troopers has been on there too, Pulp Fiction/Kill Bill are another 2 which have appeared on CC, yet I can't fanthom where is the "comedy"?

Maybe the comedy comes from non-comedy movies airing on a comedy channel! Wink
Can I have your attention please?

I'll expect Deep Blue Sea to appear next or what about Halloween or if we want why not have on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

Just seems an ill thought out idea (or again is it down to lack of content and they don't want to repeat repeats?)

I always understood why they brought in the cropped logo for MTV since the original premise of the channel has long gone but disappointed that they couldn't keep the full one for their music channels. They've brought it in for 3 pop-up channels now; MTV 80s, MTV 90s and MTV 00s so why can't they introduce it permanently. Rolling Eyes if it's down to branding and a uniform look then why break the boundaries for pop-up channels?

They’ve brought the old logo back for the pop up channels for nostalgia purposes, as that logo was in use during the periods those channels cover.

They could use the old logo but just remove the Music Television text underneath. It’s basically unreadable anyway given the low resolution and bitrate they broadcast their channels at.

Yeah, that was always a funny one - I remember when TMF done TMF Music even though 'The Music Factory' well and truly was non-existent by then it still bemused me with "The Music Factory Music".

Ok, but why would they go to those lengths when they could've just used the crop logo and Futura Bold Italic like the other MTV brands. Nostalgia is great though and to be honest it'd be nice if they replaced MTV Music or OMG permanently with something like MTV 90s and 00s. Music, Hits & OMG play mostly the same music anyway.

AATW's Now channels have proved there is a market there for decade themed channels and MTV continue to bring us these nostalgic channels sporadically for a month at a time.

Except MTV stands for Music Television, so it actually reads Music Television Music Television Music.

Yet on the main channel it really doesn't.... the channel MTV Music to me is even more redundant for that reason! "Music Television Music" ... who the heck comes up with these bright ideas?

The reason for this was the move of MTV to the Entertainment section from the Music one in January 2011

MTV Music infact replaced MTV Shows, which was intended to show entertainment shows from MTV in the entertainment section. But since even main MTV channel in the music section was non-music heavy, MTV Shows was becoming redundant, a sort of "MTV Extra".

Albeit the name might sound odd, at least MTV Music added some music to their portfolio of channels, not the opposite.

Also, if you think your MTV Music sucks, at least it's varied, especially compared to MTV Music 24 and MTV Music Italy

But I still think MTV OMG should be the only channel to be used for pop up channels, especially at Christmas., especially since MTV Music and MTV Hits are similar to MTV OMG.
MTV Classic should be left intact!

Also , now MTV is a fossilised brand, not "Music Television" anymore, which is made clear by the fact they removed the Music Television tagline

Anyway, I think MTV UK should update its music channels (which are often neglected, graphic-wise) in order to add the current font now used by MTV.

MTV Music channels still use the older one.

Also I'm OK with Club MTV being a little divergent compared to the rest (although slightly uselessly so), but why using a shade of green and not keeping purple (as MTV Dance), which overlaps a little MTV Music, MTV Rocks and now also MTV?

I also think MTV Music should be launched in HD, possibly replacing MTV Live HD on cable, which is pretty moribund anyway (and the European ad-less version)
