is this really just the raw footage (albeit correctly edited and colour graded) but without the CG elements ?
tokoyo (and even diner) seems to be missing lots of things I had assumed to be real.
when you see those idents in that state you do realise just how clever and well made they are.

Well, I'd always suspected the tumbleweed was fake. Then again, I'd always assumed a lot *more* of the Tokyo ident was CGI (the sign that looks like it says "Channel 5", for instance - I'm surprised that's not a postproduction joke).

Well, I'd always suspected the tumbleweed was fake. Then again, I'd always assumed a lot *more* of the Tokyo ident was CGI (the sign that looks like it says "Channel 5", for instance - I'm surprised that's not a postproduction joke).

That in itself is not unusual.
I've never seen the DOG on the New York or Diner idents, it always appears on the Tokyo ident though.
although on C4 HD they've added the 4HD DOG on-screen during the idents.

The only idents I've seen using the 4HD DOG is Tokyo and Rollercoaster, of course only before HD shows, which I presumed was them trying not to copy all the idents again in HD. Sadly I've not seen any of the latest batch of idents with the HD DOG, which I presumed would have been available in HD.
