You are annoying.

Anyway. Channel 4 streaming. I was thinking that Channel 4 would tie it in with the RealPlayer pass thing, but I understand that's now been wrapped up (even though Big Bro is still using it?)... so presumeably (hopefully) they will be using a better - and free - means of streaming.

And, an afterthought, why has it taken so long for the broadcasters to actually start online streaming? It still feels as though we're in the middle of a decade-long BBC Two trial before they actually role it out for everyone.

Hmm, thats a tough one, prehaps since most people in the UK have broadband it makes sense to take advantage of that, and possibly make extra revenue from the streaming. But all in all it's progress.

Would ratings from people watching the online tv stream be added to the main ratings?

Out of interest, Jenny. where is there a link to the article you found this out?*

*Not that I'm doubting you.

Due to various things I'm involved in, I have access to the Channel 4 press site. The announcement was published there on Wednesday and embargoed until 7.30 that evening.

It's started. But the current programme can't be broadcast due to rights restrictions. Ads playing fine though!

On a side note, I admire the way Channel 4 just gets on with things. When they say they are going to do something, they do it, and they do it as soon as they can. They only announced this last week, and now it's here. The BBC announced streaming of their channels (or at least BBC Two) god knows how long ago, and still we have seen nothing.
