Not sure if I should have made a new thread for this or not, But theres no actual Channel 4 thread so i suppose this will do.

Did anyone else hear the 'Robotic Noise' the announcer done whilst speaking over the menu after today's T4 just before 2pm? They realised after a while and a very embarassed sounding announcer continued. Methinks they must've got bored since 8.50 and have been playing around with the Microphone Special effects and someone forgot to turn them off.

Exactly how many Channel 4 (4C) idents are there these days?

The day they launched (New Year's Eve 2004), I recorded several different ones:

Pylons
Urban Street
Hay
High-Rise Estate
Road Signs
Alien
Diner

Next day I got City and Bowling.

Back along I heard somewhere (through Digital Spy?) that Channel 4 have added to the set since. How many have they got these days?

What about the other channels run by Channel 4 Television: E4, More 4 and Film 4? Do we want three separate threads to discuss the pres on those other three channels, or can those be discussed here along with Channel 4. I'd like to know before I feel temped to start separate threads for E4, More 4 and Film 4.

(4C) - WTF is that supposed to mean; why so you feel the need to effectively write the channel name twice (although once in your own bizarre code)?

I tell you what; just don't start any threads. If there is anything specific to discuss i'm sure somebody else can start a thread.

As for the number of idents - I don't know, look at Wikipedia or something.

I reckon that's the lot so far, yes.

I ought to mention Sofa's official name is 'Lazy Bloke'. Plus I recall that before Music was added to the set, there was the special 4Music Ident with the Neon strands and ending in the lit-up blue '4'.

It's new ident announcement time!

Quote:
The producers of The Simpsons have created a 30-second animated version of Channel 4's brand ident featuring Homer Simpson.

In Gracie Films' trail, produced in association with 20th Century Fox, Homer goes to relax in his hammock but accidentally catapults his six pack of beers into overhead electricity pylons.

As he clings to the tree stretching to reach the beers, he electrocutes himself with each attempt to unhook them.

In a mirror of C4 creatives that feature the logo in locations such as cornfields and high-rise estates, a night-time view of the sky reveals a giant '4' of flickering and short circuiting town lights glowing in the centre of the town's grid.

The film is C4's only programme-specific ident and will debut next weekend before the channel's first run of The Simpsons' 14th season.

C4 head of marketing Rufus Radcliffe said: "We are very proud of our Channel identity and it's testament to it that Gracie Films wanted to work their most iconic brand into that creative concept to promote The Simpsons on Channel 4."
