Channel 4: New Look from New Year's Eve

AIUI the new logo is the traditional 4, but in a 3 dimensional form.

They might well use it like the E4 logo - a solid object in diffrent forms/places

Like it was 1982-96?

Yes, people are reading far too much into a small image on a news site - it was probably mocked up by that site, or, anyone really.
That wouldn't be the TVF way if we didn't, of course.

Well if that is going to be the new style of idents - I like it. At least the "4" is going nowhere. I was expecting a rebrand like Channel 4.

I know they did say that they were going to get a new logo but prehaps this is a rare example of TV execs listening to us :

The C4 Christmas trail is really well made - certainly the best TV Season trailer I've seen for a long time. It still ends with a shimmering blue "4-square" logo though, and looks much better than the "FOUR" Christmas Book.

In fact, the effort put into the traliers may suggest one last outing for the square - let's hope it goes out on a high...

I genuinely was half way though making some mocks about a year ago in a really similar sounding style to this (blocks form in various places like on a deserted highway) and I can't find them.

But I did start doing them. Really!

Where would they fit a menu onto that?

My guess is they have the menu before the actual ident. That image isn't the whole picture, would be another guess.

My understanding of these suggests that the logo will be formed in various locations by pieces, like that little box, are the bails of hay or something in a field?
Perhaps they will have an image focus on one of the pieces that will display the Now/Next info then fade away and then the logo forms. I suppose we'll have to wait until January, well New Year's Eve, very odd time to launch them, you'd have thought that they'd have used Christmas until New Years Eve at least, but no.

I think.... anyone remember I belive it was a Honda as, you saw various parts all held in place etc, the camera moved round and saw it from a diffrent angle, reviling an image or a whole car. I think thats how this it going to work.
