This new ident is BRILLIANT
Have you noticed how the best pres seems to come from channels that adopt a single numeral as their symbol (eg C4, BBC2 etc)? With the exception of BBC1's ident from 1991, they all seem to help the channel become something you really want to watch, even if only for the pres...

Yes, I think I've mentioned on occasion before that numerals seem to work so much better (one distinct exception of a non-numeral working well being the balloon, but then that was the trademark globe's most flexible incarnation and the music was just right).
However I ought to mention that while BBC 1 in '91 might have had just a single ident (showing different points per junction), the pres was bolstered when the '1' stings were introduced alongside similarly varied themed trail endboards -- and example of such snazzy use of the '1' can be seen on this site's very home page -- no doubting that wherever it is used, a numeral has flexibility and can be memorable, especially when compared to contrasting idents without any single icon for a symbol.

Not just numerals though - it's more about logos really as fans of various ITV regions will agree I'm sure.
A text based logo never works as well.
Re: Four Score II - hopefully they'll use it for more than just a menu. It be great if they create a promo piece to mark their 25th with Four Score as the theme.
I think it's looking promising that C4 will mark the occassion this year - seen a couple of things with various execs from the channels making comments about them hitting 25 years, and we've already had that promo from Film4. When you consider too that at the moment for various reasons C4 is as keen as ever to prove it's worth, I think a bit of a nostalgic look back over 25 years is very much on the cards this autumn.

Just thinking, anyone know if Lazy Bloke got withdrawn permanently?
Haven't seen it recently and I know it featured Des Lynam on Countdown who obviously isn't there anymore, which could have been the primary reason - I'm hoping it'll be revised at some point (i-e, changing the display on the telly, tweak the audio to the new sound) and then re-aired.
