Its back, i get the feeling this will become a yearly traditional now with Ch4, there could have tried a bit harder, like have someone else do Gok wang job etc.

On January 4th 2013 the Channel 4 Mash Up returns for a night of show-swapping fun from our favourite Channel 4 stars.

Alan Carr causes havoc in a special Chatty Man version of The Million Pound Drop where we see Loose Women (Denise Welch, Sherrie Hewson, Lisa Maxwell and Jane MacDonald) Richard Bacon and Alexander Armstrong take on the Drop in a bid to win £1million for their charities.

8 out of 10 Cats (Jimmy Carr, Jon Richardson and Sean Lock) hijack an episode of Deal or No Deal and in a second DOND hit, featuring in a short sketch, psychological mastermind Derren Brown tries his hand as a contestant but will Derren bring The Banker down?

SW3 also features with a number of Channel 4 faces swapping their postcodes for Made in Chelsea as they strut their stuff and party with London's glamorous young socialites.

Come Dine With Me will ensure that dinner is served with plenty of giggles as a bunch of mischievous comedians taking on the dinner party challenge with Angelos Epithemiou, Olivia Lee, Pete Firman and Stan Boardman.

The three and a half hour night will be hosted by two of Channel 4 biggest talents (still under-wraps) and will feature a variety of comedy sketches throughout the night.

Channel4 Mash up is commissioned by Entertainment Commissioning Editor Madeleine Knight and Executive Producer for Channel 4 is Hannah Dodson. The production company is Fresh One. Stephanie McIntosh is the Series Producer, Graham Proud the Director and Rachel Ablett the Executive Producer.

Yes. Ahem.

I did quite enjoy it last year and I seem to remember it doing well in the ratings but it feels like it has no real purpose. Last year they were making out that it was the start of a year of celebration for C4's 30th (which it really wasn't) where as this year they only seem to be doing it because it was a bit of a success last time.

The Come Dine With Me episode described just sounds like any other celebrity edition of Come Dine With Me.

Also I'm certain the two hosts that are supposedly under wraps were announced ages ago. Davina and someone else, and I think it said something about them attempting to do stand up?

I don't think it's that kind of channel.

I have to say, when I hear those names I don't immediately think Channel 4.

Maybe if it was ten years ago, I'd associate Alexander Armstrong, but the Loose Women have nothing to do with Channel 4 and, IIRC, never have done.

10 years ago Richard Bacon was a big Channel 4 name too of course.

I don't see why that's relevant though, sure the Channel 4/'mash up' aspect is the different presenter?

I get the impression they meant to book Richard Osman as I've seen it billed as Loose Women vs Pointless.

I'd imagine that having him of a contestant on an Endemol show would have been an issue

He's Creative Director of Endemol UK, I'd imagine that could be seen as a conflict of interest
