Does anybody know which region is broadcast on digital services in Wales as NTL place "Channel 4" on 104 and it is also receivable on DTT and DSat. Traditionally I suppose a Wales region wouldn't have existed due to S4C having that airspace.

The map on the C4 Sales website isn't that specific.

Gareth

I think we get the channel 4 west of England advert region here in Wales on DTT.

I see your point since ITV isnt very regional anymore anyway and with a lot of regions showing pan regional programmes e.g. Granada/YTV, West/Westcountry it could make sense

Btw which region is Walsh? Wink

slight problem in that would require gvt legisaltion to change. Each of the 15 areas is effectively supposedly different from one another - all have separate licences.

ITV plc could possibly get regions to share programmes/facilities through "joint" programming, i.e. " A Granada/Yorkshire/Tyne Tees/Border co-production", " A Central/Anglia Co-Production", " A LWT/Carlton co-production - aka A London production", " a Meridian/Westcountry Co-production" and "A HTV Production - aka A Wales Production".

Although it does seem to already happen in Scotland - A STV Production" formerly "A STV/Grampian Production"

But Ulster is separate and so is Channel - what do you do with those???

It would save money but it would also lose money

Think why Channel 4 have 6 regions just for adverts, when all the programmes are identical. It would save them money if they just had one national version.

Companies pay for regional advertising

Bradley gets his own region?

I'd buy a ticket to that!

"East/South" as someone described is the region carried in Wales.

Hmm the Republic of Ireland region is a new addition, and some of the region names seem to have changed slightly... LEMNUS anyone?

LEMNUS still existed in principal. The sales map is designed for all C4 operations, therefore Eire is representing the broadcasts of E4 as opposed to carrying a Channel 4 region.

Firstly Eire is the Irish name for Ireland and on using it I take it you mean the whole of Ireland?
Secondly C4 is carried on cable in the Republic of Ireland so the viewing figures should reflect this in C4 stats.

These were the C4 feeds from Horseferry Road, IIRC

L - London
E - East/South
M - Midlands
N - North
U - Ulster
S - Scotland
*
B - Backup

Does pressing the red button on the Clock Cracker page on C4 Teletext still get you the PDC status etc page?
