I am just wondering if anyone knows of any plans by Channel 4 to refresh their on-screen identity??
It's just so dull and boring now and I feel a change is long overdue - Christmas was the icing on the cake really, using the same unimpressive idents for the billionth year in a row.
Someone please tell me we're getting a new look soon?!
Regulars at TV Forum will have been reading for months that C4 are planning a new look, but I've not seen it mentioned anywhere else myself.
I think the original thread came about as a result of an article on the Media Week website. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with and whether we lose one of the most familiar TV icons.

PS: Can anyone upload the Dead Ringers C4 idents - they look far better than the C4 idents themselves!
Agreed! I taped it last night and a good one was used. Shame they let it down by having exactly the same one but with e4 in some weird font written in the square later in the programme. Budget didn't stretch?!
I take a great interest in TV idents. I agree the current C4 one is rather bland, but in my opinion the idents that need changing the most are BBC Two. That robot 2 annoys the heck outta me! ITV1 have semmingly recently changed their ident... it's probably even worse than C4! However, there's a lot to be said for the localchannel in my region. All the past and present Anglia Television idents have been pleasant, the one with the flag winning first prize in my books for the accompanying music! But I think BBC One tops all other channels for idents even though I think they've never been as good since they axed the hot air balloon. I do particularly like their current Christmas ident (the kids dressed as snowflakes) and I hope they will continue using that for year to come. It makes a refreshing change from the acrobats and dancers!
