I keep wanting to get boxes out in the kitchen just to see what's written on them.
I don't know why, but I really fancy some IAMS right now.

Had an announcer on 4HD complete with apology...
(Apologies for video/audio quality - I can't hook my capture card up to the Sky+ at the moment - and there is audio, you may have to turn your speakers up, a lot)
What we got on SD (I've abridged it slightly):

Tokyo ident played into Desperate Housewives, announcer-less, and then 20 seconds later we're stuck on the IAMS advert again.

Well sorry for any technical problems you may having at the minute, it's our fault not yours, sorry about that. Shameless in an hour. First there's first night nerves and choice words, Desperate Housewives on 4. Hopefully anyway.

Wonder if the "Hopefully anyway" was caused by them seeing the ident not going out on SD...
During the rest of the junction we got to see the first half of the colmans advert before going to black/silence, then rejoining for a bumper into two promos, then into the ident. Occaisionally throughout this we got to see the end frame of the iams advert (but we never saw that advert play out).

It might be worth trying C4+1 London on 995, all the C4 channels have had various encoder problems since December, and I have noticed some blocking on the East/South/Wales version.
Yes, Channel 4 has been dodgy since Christmas, I've noticed break up on all 3 platforms (satellite, cable and DTT) since then.
Tonight's problems look like they're to do with playout rather than encoders, presumably teething trouble with the new-ish facilities at Red Bee
Digital blocking.
I don't think it's us as SKY fixed the dish recently, unless he **** it up, but no other channel is playing up.

It's probably just me and my TV nerdiness but I really appreciate it when CAs come clean about what's happening and more or less make light of the situation, something I admire about Channel 4's presentation.

I'm exactly the same. C4 has some of the best continuity announcers on TV. The guy on last night was Pete Nottage http://twitter.com/PeteNottage
