Just when we thought C4 would never bother again. A very nice ident - love the penguin tipping over and sliding away at the end and very much in the "split second" spirit of the other idents unlike some (I'm looking in your direction The Simpsons!). Knowing it was all hand drawn just makes it extra appealing.

I did say that it would have been nice, but I doubted that they would.
I'm glad to see that they've proven me wrong. Hopefully they will use it a bit more, and maybe adapt other pres. elements in the run up to the big day.

Brilliant!!! What took them so long? They had a great Christmas tradition in their inventory, so why not?

It should be noted that this ident is basically a promotion for the new Snowman and the Snowdog film.

The same could technically be said for when Wallace and Gromit were the faces of the BBC One ident a few years ago, as well as Doctor Who. They're still Christmas idents.

In the same way that BBC One for a few years used theirs to promote Programmes?

I think the difference here is, Channel 4 are only having one this year as an opportunity to promote a programme, whereas we know BBC One would have had one regardless.

Yes I think Jon is right. Channel 4 aren't suddenly going to have Christmas presentation each year - it's simply the case they are advertising the new Snowman film.

They didn't have any christmas idents.

Infact for many years C4 haven't had a single christmas ident!

Channel 4 hasn't had any Christmas idents since this package was launched, 8 years ago. (Until now) Generally they only went as far as changing the breakbumpers.
