Channel 4 butchering The Simpsons

On yesterday's E4 episode of friends (Ross' wedding part 2) When Joey was walking down the isle a line was missing. He's giving commentary to Pheobe on the phone as he walks down the isle and the part where he says hi to the girl he met was cut. It's there on the DVD but for some strange reason, its been cut by channel 4.

One thing I must note is that whenever C4 or E4 go through all the episodes of Friends, they always leave out TOW Free Porn, unless it gets a post 9pm showing. I've got the epsidoe on DVD somewhere, and the funny thing is there is nothing really rude about it, no nudity or anything like that, it's just the word porn is said quite often.

Channel 4 have resceduled the Saturday episode of Deal or No Deal to Sunday, last time this happened they/Endemol made several messy edits to remove Noel Edmund's reference to the day (see also the messy removal of the viewers competition last year). Thankfully, this time the episode went out today (Sunday) with all mentions of Saturday intact.

Another cut from yesterday's Channel 4 Simpsons.

The episode where Bart moves out on his own after divorcing his parents.

When the Simpsons go to visit him they walk past a homeless guy who they give money to and tell him to buy a new coat with it.

The homeless guy says "Yes, I'll buy a coat - a coat of drugs".

They cut the end part of that off.

Another fine example of cutting. Channel 4 cut Otto saying "I don't need drugs to enjoy this...just to enhance it" to remove the "just to enhance it".

They also cut out the part where Krusty says " I can't read pornography with Candle Light who am I Abe Lincoln".

Amazingly during an episode of Friends the other day on E4, they kept in a line where Ross says to Chandler, Aren't you píssed at him?

Another edit on friends just now. Joey goes to see his agent after he loses his health insurance, Estelle tells him that someone maybe badmouthing him all over town and Joey's response is "b*stards" which is cut but in the next scene Rachel's use of the word bitches is left in.

Interesting that considering Channel 4's butchering of The Simpsons they have left in the line from Judge Snyder in tonight's episode 'The Frying Game' about 'aggravated buggery' (this was cut out on Sky One's airings).

A warning before the Halloween episode on Channel 4 this afternoon, making people aware that it was going to be a scary episode. Hmm. Maybe censorship a little too far?

But did they actually censor anything though? If not then it's hardly censorship too far, just a bit of common sense. I'd rather have a warning if it meant the episodes stayed in tact

They did actually censor this evening's halloween episode in at least one place - where Homer falls into the spinning blades in the middle of the kitchen table - they cut the scene where blood splashes onto the ceiling, and the scene where Lenny and Karl die after the helicopter crash. Strange!
