More classic C4 editing again, I'm sorry if I'm getting on peoples nerves about the subject, but it's winding me up considering how pathetic and un-neccessary the edits are, Friends on E4 yesterday....

Interesting, especially some of the more trivial cuts and the difference between broadcasters. What I do notice is that there are more edits in the early series as opposed to the later ones - is this because the earlier ones were worse or because the broadcasters were more eager to censor?

I used to watch The Simpsons every night on Sky One a few years back (7pm slot) and certainly some of the cuts weren't always ommitted. If all the episodes shown were the edited versions then surely I wouldn't recognise what was said in the censored bits yet in a fair number of instances I do remember them.

The butchering disease has now spread to the Desperate Housewives, where Stella, Lynette's Mum, is telling her the merits of Marijuana. To those who have not seen the episode before, they are now treated to confusion when Lynette seems to say out of the blue "no, Mom, I am not buying medication from a man under a bridge."

Why do they schedule programmes for pre-9pm when they are clearly not designed to be shown earlier than that?

Is that the one in Brazil? If so that caused quite a bit of a stir in Brazil when originally shown. I wonder if (when they show it again), they'll edit out the line "Our money is so gay" (refering to the brightly coloured Brazillian banknotes) in case anyone takes offence Rolling Eyes

That caused some contraversy the Brazil episode. What 623058 was trying to say was that the show was taken off in a South American country because the broadcaster thought it was sending out negative values, and they replaced it with Baywatch, but my understanding is that it has been reinstated.
