Seen the Channel 4 Breakdown caption as of trouble getting back to CBB after adverts.

TalkTalk were getting too much from that! Surprised

I only saw the caption as I was practicing boxing with my brother in the hall, and I heard the announcer say "We Can Now Return To The House" I had no clue what was wrong though.

The breakdown caption though, I have to say, I love it!

When he said 'we can now return to the house' and it took about six seconds to move on, I thought they were going to have to tell us the problem hadn't been fixed. Smile

I flicked over to S4C at 10pm to see what they did with the delayed screening of Celeb BB - they just put up a still caption then cut more into the programme than C4 did!

I wonder what'll happen with the repeat screenings tomorrow!

P.S. Exactly what technical fault could it have been? (and please don't be too technical in your explanations! Laughing )

It's interesting - I had just assumed the sponsorship bumpers were burnt onto the programmes themselves.

Guess the fault could have been a circuit go down between BB and C4. I am guessing that the programme is played down the line rather than rushing a tape to C4 pres.

As for sponsorship, its pretty normal these days for them to be played by pres. I know this happens at ITV, UKTV and apparently C4. For a start, if sponsorhip was on the transmission tape, it would have to be re-edited if the sposor hadn't paid for repeat TX's, or their campain had changed for example. I know ITV had problems with live programmes and PA's forgetting to count out sponsorhips when the programme was responsible for them, and also got cue dots all muddled up.

The damp string stretched between the house and channel four snapped.

I'm thinking.

I always thought the sponsorer was not allowed to advertise during the show which was why that fabulous Orange advert from the BB4 final was so good.

It's really sloppy looking in my opinion to have talk talk ads during a show with two talk talk bumpers.

Yeah I agree. The only time I see TalkTalk adverts is on Channel 4 during the ads. Whats the point?! We get them before and after the show goes to a break/starts and finishes. Mad

Why do they do this? Confused

The BB tape, film reel or other source probably rewound during the break and they lost the break point etc...so had to find the position again.
