I think Channel 4 itself is in denial about it's age.

Only 20 mins before the documentary on More 4. Listening to Four Score at the moment Wink.

They've even stuck the old 2D colour '4' on the slidey ECP for it...My telly doth fall victim to overscan and cut the base off though.

Love the Fourscore incorporated into the ident music! AND the wonderful opening morphing symbols montage, which made me smile.

Very watchable so far, but they've already had one continuty error ... the later theme music of Brookside for the first night episode .... I think not.

Shouldn't have been too hard to get at least the first night right ... doesn't the BFI have the first night or possibly week in entirety in the archive?

Maybe they couldn't use the old music? The whole programme is on tomorrow night

I remember the various documentaries about Brookside have always used a mock-up of the continuity into the first episode - using a slide that wasn't around in 1982 and a female announcer rather than Paul Coia. Maybe there's some reason the original material cannot be re-used.

I hope someone's got a capture card out.

The first episode - with original start and end titles and music - is on the 4 On Demand website, free to watch.

It's just a continutiy error obviously.

This is very enjoyable anyyway - love the trailer for tomorrow night done as it almost would have been before the C4 News or at closedown in 1982 or 1983 - even with the right print.

All we need to see now is something about the lack of ads.
