C4 have stated channels will be free to air on satellite from next year (October I think according to DS).
Sky basically screwed them over as always. C4 wanted More4 to be FTA (FTV) - and even advertised it as such - but Sky had other ideas!
Meanwhile, when E4 launched on Freeview Sky insisted it remained as part of it's subscription package - and that also C4 should no longer get it's cut of the subscription revenue.

That is a little bit of a skewed view.
I know no more of the facts than you've put forward, but Sky won't just have been able to do something because they want to.
Presumably C4 when signing their deal to be in a subscription package (and take the cut of sub revenue) agreed that should they make the channel available elsewhere for free would surrender the revenue to Sky.
It is reasonable from Sky's point of view, if they provide C4 with some subscription revenue and promote the channel as part of a package; they should be able to take action when C4 change their strategy.
I wasn't aware that More4 was a subscription channel - presumably the deal covered all C4 entertainment channels [filmfour had a seperate sub deal at the time].

Just a reminder - The Crystal Maze, tonight at 9pm on More4.
Also noticed this morning on the More4 menu they have the old C4 logo appear next to the time on C4 at 25 programmes, though thinking about it they should have used the old C4 style menu instead really.
Have they used that at all since they did the Opening Night of programmes?
Putting pictures of chests on it has ruinned it. What the hell were they thinking? Bloody idiots! If it were just plain blocks, it would probably look alright (some imaginative lighting would look good too).
They should have used transparent blocks with lights in them, I dont like this whole 'bodies' idea, its got so mant different colours and textures it looks confusing. The idents just use one object/image, they should have kept to that with this.
