its a shame that RW isn't here to enjoy 25 years of countdown!

Don't do that! It took me a surprisingly long time to work out that you meant Richard Whiteley, rather than TVForum irregular Robert Williams.

Or Robbie Williams. Mind you, he's probably got a large dish in LA and isn't missing a thing.

I've no idea what you're going on about. I was talking about his personal trainer.

The ident used ahead of the recreated menus looks to be quite genuine when compared to the remade 'fly-in' version.

I think that one actually is the original version. I presume as the blocks just spin around and don't cross the edge of the 4:3 frame, there was no need to remake it for 16:9.

Spot on. I think it's great that the real thing was implemented somewhere - using all recreations would have been a shame; you just can't beat authenticity.

Also good to see C4 still like to choose the occasional programme-matching identity - the Alien symbol was fittingly shown before Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 AD ...

They have replaced the epiosde of The Golden Girls that was due to go out tomorrow at 9pm with Friends - The One With The Free Porn (Series 4, episode 17). They've just put out a trailer promoting this as part of the Channel 4 at 25 season. Ties in quite good for E4 though who are at this point in the series but cannot show this episode during the 5/8pm slot.

I'd rather have the Golden Girls.

Why the change do you think?
