I loved how Richard Whiteley and the two contestants all looked exactly the same as each other. With their suits and glasses it felt like an accountants meeting which had been gatecrashed by Ted Moult.
So when did the music change to the current arrangement? It was definitely a while ago.
And Film4 is still producing too - The Last King of Scotland being the most notable example of the last year.

Think they are overdoing the ident now, need to show some of the other versions of it, although I guess they've only remade the one.
There are at least two which have turned up in the More4 trailers. The remade version we've commentated on and another which seems to be used on the menus with the 4 breaking up and reforming - though I'm not sure whether that's a remake or an original.

It change in 1988 TV ark has a clips
TVark... Gameshows... A-F... oh,
Sorry if I'm being an idiot/blind, but I can't see it.
Also thanks for the link to it on YouTube, I could not see the programme. Carol is making a big mathematical taboo on the board by writing several equals signs to a line: She writes
7 - 3 = 4 + 1 = 5, which, if you look at it closely, makes no sense. I would expect Carol to know better, but I guess there is just limited space (I recall a clip where her writing goes off the bottom and can't be seen).
It's weird to see this when you are used to the new one. That jingle sounds wrong and should have a bong, like in the titles. It seems so needless having all those people there, and where are the pleases and thank yous?

It is probably so she can remember where the number comes from (the board or from a sum). Also, using brackets may have been thought to be confusing to the viewers.
