I was a bit surprised about the "Ceefax" page. Being a Channel 4 programme, it should have been a "Teletext" page.

Although Gordon the Gopher was never a vision mixer either.

Especially since he was credited as Floor Manager.

That happened as couldn't decide to use him or Jim Bowen in my example, so they got mixed up in my head.

Not in the 80s, Oracle were the teletext provider until 1993.

4-Tel could also be a valid option.

Channel 4's own teletext service was called 4-Tel which pre 93 was on Oracle which I think moved to Intlelfax in 93?

It was always produced by Intelfax. Before 1993 it was part of Oracle and from 1993 it was an ancillary service broadcast alongside Teletext (as the various ITV text services were too)

Anyway, it's a comedy show... they're going to pick a reference that everyone knows and has some resonance with them. Everyone knows what Ceefax was

It appears that the last break's teaser (on 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown) was edited out. I wonder what it was.

What? There was a teaser on the final break.

Jimmy said "Here is your final teaser. The words are CURED JON, and the clue is 'you'll need magic to do this'. 'That's CURED JON - you'll need magic to do this'. See you after the break."

The answer was CONJURED.

One of two things has happened here.

1. You either watched it on 4OD where an unedited version went out.

2. Bilky Asko, was referring to the one that had previously gone out at the time of writing.

I suspect it's the latter.

Yeah, it was the middle teaser missing - and oddly the last numbers game. Also the 2nd dictionary corner anecdote was at the end of the 2nd break rather than 3rd as they usually do.

Well, the latter are hardly odd, there was far more chat at the start then in previous episodes (and it was five minutes shorter with the extended sketch) so they just dropped a round to fit it all in, and it's a fairly shambolic show anyway. But yes, one of the teasers was clearly edited out, because every ad break in every episode has had one until now.

It was the latter - such confusion is a peril of making comments during the show.
