A strange decision with the slightly altered continuity style over a current ident - either go for an entire retro style, or just present it straight in the usual way. One without the other seems a little odd.

Interesting that despite being an 80s night and a one-off, 15 to 1 has been given some fancy new titles... Very good re-recording of the tune as well.

I know it's not going to be played straight and neither would I want it to be. But this 15-1 seems like it's been made people who'd never seen the original and had simply read a description of the format.

Quite like the set though, even if the podiums are a little awkward.

Missed the start though so can't comment on the titles.

Quite hard to distinguish the red LED lives.

The continuity announcement into Countdown was odd, the 80s night seems a bit half arsed. but the start of Countdown was good, even got the 1989 titles too.

Jennie Bond sounded very close to the original female voiceover.

Haven't watched Channel 4 for such a long time. The half hour of 80s night I just watched sums up what C4 has become: half arsed and thrown together with little care or thought.

Indeed, half arsed pretty much sums this evening up.

Didn't everyone start with 100 points on 15 to 1 previously? How are they going to do the end round without points?

No - you start the final round with 1, 2 or 3 points based on lives remaining, with 10 points for each correct answer and then 10 points for each life remaining at the end - max score was 433.

Indeed, half arsed pretty much sums this evening up.

Talking of half arsed and C4 I thought they were doing Stand up for Cancer again which I'd have thought would be round about now, but no sign of it. Knowing C4 scheduling of late they'll probably air it against Children in Need.

They used 100 points for the Christmas Day 1999 episode when it was in actual fact 25 to 1...
