Here's something I've not seen before, during C4 News there was a mini breakdown where the ad break failed to play out so we had the start of a Unicef appeal ad frozen on screen for around 30 seconds before going back to Jon Snow who apologised for "technicals". 5 minutes later an audibly surprised Snow announced they were having another ad break and this time the appeal ad played with no problems. First time I've seen a channel having a couple of runs at showing an advert, although given its content it was probably for the best.

There was a problem at the end too. After the ITN Production slide, they started playing Jonathan Miller's report from earlier on in the programme for a second or two before correctly playing the weather sponsorship sting.

The "sorry for any technicals there" line from Jon Snow was not subtitled.

This seems indicative of the state of creative, 'born risky', 'don't consider revivals' Channel 4 these days. Solid show, no question, and decent presenters, but I really can't see it doing very well.

Yes, the problem with Fifteen to One is that its a bit of a dinosaur in quiz terms. It will be interesting to see how they bring it up to modern expectations after so long away.

Good choice of host though

I assume you didn't see the 80s special which was essentially a pilot for a new series then?

Yes I did. It was essentially a pilot for a celebrity version, how they will do a version with members of the public remains to be seen.

Either way it's still been overtaken as a format and is at it's heart a pretty dull quiz show. Compare it to daytime shows that have com since like The Chase, Weakest Link and Pointless.

That said Sandi Toksvig is no William G Stewart, she will add some warmth to it and not ramble on about the Elgin Marbles once a series!

Has it though? Compare it to the likes of Tipping Point, Perfection or, worst of all, Eggheads and it stands up pretty well. I mean Channel 4 have commisioned some incredibly forgettable daytime quiz shows lately (Common Denominator, Face the Clock, that other one that Sandi Toksvig presented who's name escapes me), why not return to something that works?

I have to say I thought the revival showed what a stale format it was. The ratings weren't amazing either.
C4 must be desperate. The daytime scheduling will be interesting.

Channel 4 had IVC at 20:00. A woman spoke about biscuits before Superscrimpers Christmas Cracker. There was also a hash tag, #bornrisky or something similar.

Another Born Risky IVC before The Simpsons just now.

There was also one on 22.00 before GoggleBox last night, a disabled lady with a Stephen Hawking style voice machine.

There are five continuity announcers during December with impairment problems.
